Readers at LHS Constitution 

ARTICLE I: Name         

Section 1:  The name of this organization shall be:  Readers at LHS 

ARTICLE II: Objectives and Activities                  

Section I: The objectives of this organization shall be: 

          A.  to promote reading for pleasure 

B.     to provide a forum for students to share thoughts, insights, and questions on one novel per month. 

          Section 2: The activities of the organization shall be: 

C. Any student or staff member may sign up to join a Circle of Ten book discussion group on one novel (chosen by the sponsor) per month.  

D.     Members are not required to sign up to discuss all books. Members can choose to discuss any of the book circles. 

E.      A book and sticky notes will be provided for check-out to each Circle of Ten member for each book we read and discuss. 

F.      Circle of Ten discussions will be limited to 10 members and the sponsor. 

ARTICLE III: Membership         

Section 1: Membership shall be limited to all Legacy students and staff.                             Section 2: Membership shall include any student or staff member who participates in reading and discussing at least one book during this school year. 

ARTICLE IV: Officers

Section 1: Due to the changing nature of the membership from book to book, no officers will be elected. 

Section 2: Sponsor will solicit input from all members during this school year for the Circle of Ten method for book discussion. 

ARTICLE V: Meetings Section 1: Students will discuss each month’s selection on the readersatLHS blog with one final meeting in person at the end of four weeks. Section 2: The final meeting for each month’s selection will take place on the last Tuesday of the month.
